Reports to: Production Director
About Five Q
Five Q is a full-service web development and interactive marketing agency serving non-profits and ministries. We are successful if our clients are successful in their Internet endeavors. Our growing team consists of highly motivated professionals in a distributed work environment. Our clients currently number around 80 and are spread throughout the United States.
Objective
Functioning in a distributed work environment, the Project Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the project efforts. The Project Manager will direct the work efforts of a team; solve technical and strategic issues; plan the project’s work, timeline, and budget; and communicate with clients on a regular basis. The Project Manager will facilitate the effective execution of client projects to the satisfaction of client expectations while maintaining the core goals of excellence, integrity, trust, learning, and profitability for Five Q.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Regular Tasks:
- Plan weekly work schedules for programming, design, and strategy staff. Additionally, be able to forecast resource and work needs per client for monthly capacity planning in conjunction with Project Management and Leadership teams.
- Estimate & manage client work. Prioritize deliverables, recommending alternative solutions and project strategies. Lead in overall execution of the client work, including managing business expectations, schedules, budgets, resources, training, and communications.
- Work with limited supervision, taking ownership of client work and communications to achieve pre-determined schedule, financial, and technical goals.
- Identify and document risks, needs, and strategic metrics.
Retainer Clients Tasks:
- Partner with the Account Executive in serving the client by assisting with the details of client management.
- Manage the monthly/weekly/daily task lists for the client.
- Capture requests from client and add them to the unscheduled tasks list.
- Schedule regular meetings with the client and Account Executive to review task priorities, document needs/tasks, and update schedules.
- Review work performed by programmers, designers, or contractors prior to submission to the client.
- Provide weekly/monthly reports on task and hours progress.
Projects Tasks:
- Work with the Production Director to schedule the project, assigning the correct team members as company resources allow, and planning for project needs.
- Deliver projects that meet or exceed the expressed standards of the client.
- Communicate regular project progress updates to the client.
- Review work performed by programmers, designers, or contractors prior to submission to the client.
- Provide training as needed.
Other Expectations:
- Present a professional image of Five Q to current and potential clients at all times.
- Work with Five Q Team to provide outstanding customer service for our clients.
- Bill 80% of weekly work time to client work, with an expected 40-45 hour work week.
- Ensure that projects meet their specified metrics and goals.
- Accurately track time through company time tracking system.
- Participate in team meetings.
- Travel, when necessary, for training or client meetings.
Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in business, project management, communications, or equivalent experience.
- 1-2 years project management experience
- Experience in leading a project team, mentoring talent, and providing technical leadership skills.
- Experience leading complex projects of major significance, both in scope and budget.
- Demonstrated ability to manage the development of interactive, database-driven websites; mobile; video; and/or strategic initiatives.
- Demonstrated understanding of project management principles: waterfall, modified waterfall, lean, and agile programming methodologies.
- Desired knowledge of:
- Basic design principles for the web
- Software programming and content management systems
- Marketing communications and public relations
- Principles of writing and editing for the web
- Web usability
